Project Quarantine:

Don’t let the input become the output.

Lately, there is a lot of news about the actual COVID-situation. One of them is that in Germany there is now a lockdown for every citizen in our state. From 20pm-05 am nobody can leave their homes without a particular reason. The crisis is getting worse. There are daily 600.000 new persons infected with the virus worldwide and the numbers keep growing. Even if there are measurements, if the virus isn’t taken seriously by the public the virus will do more damage than necessary. So my question is: How do we spend our time?

Now that we have more time for ourselves, we should try to spend it wisely. The first thing I want to do personally is catch up to my past absences, where I was slacking off due to my more lazy getting self. Honestly, with this much comfort I had, I used too much of my time I should’ve invested in studying or doing other productive things. But in the first lockdown, I got lazy. To learn from my mistakes and change for the better I see this lockdown as an opportunity, where I can become a better version of myself.

Level-UP

As I mentioned I want to catch up on my missed lessons. Also, I want to start where I stopped before the lockdown and that is my health. My eating habits got worse and I also lost sight of my workout-schedule.

Furthermore, I should decrease the amount of time I put into playing video games or binge-watching on YouTube or Netflix.

As my grandparents always like to say: “Everything has its time.”, and with that, I only have time to study once. With the age of 40, I probably won’t be studying without any worries. That also means there will be a time where I will have to take more responsibility and prepare to be ready in life.

“To be ready”, I don’t entirely know what it means to be ready. Everyone and everything changes so fast. I just want to be able not only to catch up but to take my course of action. I want to be prepared when the time comes to prove myself. What happens if you become a father or a mother? Will you be ready? The thing is: I don’t think it works like that. Sometimes life hits you like a truck. And you can’t think of it as an exam or anything comparable like that. So my thought is: If I am confident in myself I will be able to face those obstacles. And to gain such confidence in myself, because I am not of a confidential nature, I have to build it myself. Bit by bit. I will start by setting myself goals and achieve them.

So I made a list of the things I want to achieve by the end of the year:

  1. Catch up on my lessons.
  2. Sleep schedule: waking up early at 6 am and going to sleep at 10 pm.
  3. Reducing time spent on unimportant things.
  4. Establishing a fixed eating schedule.
  5. Working out at least 2 times a weak.
  6. I want to be able to do at least 10 pullups and 50 pushups.
  7. Establishing a morning-evening routine.
  8. Reading regularly.

This is just brainstorming so far, but I am already planning how to put these goals into practice. I will give you an update at the end of the year and will share my progress.

The only thing I can do is recommend you to do something like that yourself. The goal is to improve during the lockdown and not tolerate yourself fall into bad habits just because of external influences. With these words, I hope you make the best of this lockdown and strive for a better tomorrow.
